Covid 19 and Our Services

Shelter in place has become a common term now and has brought many challenges, especially for our elderly, the immune compromised, and parents home schooling while also working from home.

The Love of Dogs will continue service for anyone who cannot get their dogs outside for the exercise and socialization they need.

Having their families at home more often is a dog’s greatest joy and one benefit to this shelter in place order. Walking your dog around the neighborhood is a great bonding time for both you and your dog; however, with beaches, city parks, dog parks, and other public areas closed or closing along with social distancing, it is becoming more and more challenging to provide the proper amount of play for the dogs. We have our own private “dog park” where it’s just me and your dogs without any social distancing required. This allows your dog to run free off-leash with a group of his or her friends in a safe, controlled environment -- which helps keep you safe as well.

I am very thankful dogs are not affected by this virus. At this time, the CDC has stated -- “There is no evidence that companion animals, including pets, can spread COVID-19 or that they might be a source of infection in the United States.” Of course we will be diligently looking for any new reports or updates as this situation continues to change daily.

I adhere to the social distancing rules when I pick up and drop off your dogs. If you need advance warning for pick ups and drop offs, I am more than happy to do that as well. I have always used hand sanitizer on a regular basis due to the nature of the business, but now I am also wearing gloves as an extra precaution.

We are also still providing overnight care, should you need it.

Hoping you all stay safe and healthy, not just for yourselves, but for your furry friends as well.

Love always, The Love of Dogs
