Our Staff
Glenn McTaggart
Originally from Canada until 2005 when he relocated to northern California.
35 years experience with dog behaviors and training.
His grandfather was the local dog catcher in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and taught Glenn how a strong bond between man and animal comes from mutual respect and understanding rooted in unconditional love. His uncle, also could speak to dogs just like they were any other person and both of them were the dog whispers' of their time. They passed on a rare knowledge of dog speak, communication and understanding that are only now being understood and adopted by some of the more well known trainers and behavioralists of our day. His father trained and communicated with horses with as much ease which added to Glenn's ability to listen and understand an animals ability to communicate. Glenn uses that knowledge and his techniques to make teaching and learning an enjoyable challenge and a happy reward for any dog.
His training in canine physiology and behaviors gives him the knowledge and confidence of recognizing visible potential health dangers and ways of keeping dogs safe from harm in any environment.
Glenn is not a veterinarian and therefore cannot diagnose, only offer an opinion. Always consult a doctor of veterinary medicine for your pet companions major health needs.
Eighteen years as a Police Officer in Calgary, Alberta Canada, he trained and worked along with the canine service and learned more of different training techniques and how to recognize quality behaviors in dogs.
Dogs have always been a part of his life in one aspect or another.
After the police service he had a successful ten year career as a massage therapist and alternative healer for both people and dogs. Massage training gave him more insight and ways to easily communicate with dogs through the added gift of touch communication.
His unique gift, to immediately connect with any dog using behavioral training techniques handed down to him, now more commonly known as "Positive Dog Training", along with Glenn's own technique in "Dog Talk" has been a very successful combination in the education and socialization of all dogs.
Californians not only have great weather, organic foods, spirituality but also have a great love, respect and genuine care for their pet companions and makes it a joy for Glenn to live here.
The general theme of my life is helping people and dogs co-exist in a loving, healthy manner, free of conflicts and stress.
The results has provided me with a wonderful life filled with..."The Love of Dogs"

Karen commented, "Coming to The Love of Dogs is so natural for me, as I am the world's biggest animal lover; I can barely pass a dog on the street without stopping to say hello! I am really excited about helping Glenn expand this wonderful service he has created."

I have three Jack Russell Terriers who come with me and assist me daily with training and socializing other dogs. They have a job to do and do it well. They help keep unwanted behaviors in check and are leaders by example which helps dogs quickly understand what's being asked of them.
Jesse is 8 years old and not your typical Jack Russell. His knowledge and training has not only made him the most mellow and well behaved dog you've ever seen but it has also given him the opportunity to participate as a Therapy Dog, also in Fashion Shows, Televsion Commercials and Print Ads.

Rizbee is 5 years old and is crossed between a Jack Russell and an Australian Shepard. Rizbee is the hall monitor of the van and the ball dog that gets everyone involved in the game.
Rizbee has been in his first Print Ad for dog food and a Television Commercial for Bank of America.

Bob is
5 years old and was rescued by Deborah Rabin who was a Great Friend and client. When she passed Jan 2012, I was honored to be given the opportunity to become Bob's life guardian. He has always been the comedian of the pack and gets everyone playing, no matter what their size or breed is.
